Turn active searches into relevant quote requests
A homeowner searching for an installer or repair specialist has a different need from someone browsing ideas. We plan Search campaigns around the services you genuinely offer, the areas you can serve and the information needed to assess a request.
Google Ads for tradesmen should be judged by suitable quotation opportunities and commercial outcomes. A larger click count is not useful if it brings product shoppers, job seekers or requests your team cannot fulfil. Before launch, we agree what a worthwhile enquiry looks like.
| Business | Work to prioritise | Customer decision |
|---|---|---|
| Plumber | Boiler installations or planned plumbing | Coverage, credentials and the quotation process |
| Landscape gardener | Complete gardens, patios or planting | Comparable projects, materials and design approach |
| Fencing contractor | Installation, replacement or repairs | Fence styles, access and survey arrangements |
| Automatic gate installer | New gates, automation or maintenance | Suitable systems, installation scope and ongoing support |
Start with a campaign brief
We discuss preferred jobs, typical values, travel limits and capacity. A sole trader handling planned installations needs a different plan from a team offering urgent repairs. If your team cannot respond to emergencies, the campaign should not promise emergency availability.
We review keyword demand and competing offers in the target area, then agree a budget and a suitable destination page. Search examples are a starting point for research, not evidence that every town has the same volume.
What campaign management covers
- Planning around agreed services and genuine local coverage.
- Keyword selection, matching and negative-keyword review.
- Campaign setup and relevant advert copy.
- Location settings, budget controls and bidding assessment.
- Review of the enquiry route and agreed conversion measurement.
- Ongoing search-term checks, optimisation and monthly reporting.
We confirm the account structure, campaign scope and any separate landing-page or technical work before launch. Advertising does not include selling or quoting on your behalf.
Keep installation, repair and service intent clear
Boiler installations, leak repairs and bathroom projects have different economics and urgency. Similar distinctions apply to gate automation, gate maintenance, fence installation and repairs. We organise campaigns around meaningful customer needs and review which actual searches produce suitable enquiries.
We check coverage settings and the locations of real requests. Exclusions help reduce irrelevant searches, but they need context: blocking “repair” makes no sense for a repair campaign. Your feedback helps refine the account.
Control the search traffic you pay for
Begin with a focused Search plan and assess exact and phrase matching against actual queries. Review searches for DIY instructions, employment, training or materials-only shopping; exclusions must fit the service, because a repair specialist still wants repair searches.
Check location options against real coverage, including whether presence-based targeting fits the campaign. Review networks, schedules and bidding deliberately. There is no universal requirement to start on Maximise Clicks or wait a fixed number of leads before changing strategy. Reliable conversion data and your budget should guide the decision.
Google Local Services Ads is a separate product. Eligibility, available trades and locations, screening and current badge rules need checking before it is included in a proposal. Standard Search management does not imply an LSA listing or badge.
A landing page that carries the promise through
The advert and page should describe the same service. We look for clear coverage, comparable project evidence, relevant credentials and a straightforward form. A potential customer should not have to hunt through unrelated services before requesting a quote.
Forms can capture the service, postcode, contact details and a useful project description. We check the planned measurement and delivery route. A website rebuild or substantial new landing-page work is agreed separately when needed. Explore web design for tradesmen.
£499 management plus your Google budget
The management fee is £499 a month. Your advertising spend is separate and paid to Google. We recommend a test budget after reviewing services, coverage, demand and job economics; there is no universal budget that suits every contractor.
For example, £1,000 advertising spend plus £499 management costs £1,499 in total before any separately agreed work. That calculation describes cost, not a predicted number of leads. Judge affordability using contribution after direct job costs and your actual enquiry-to-job conversion rate.
Reporting beyond clicks
We explain spend, recorded enquiries and the account work completed. Your team supplies feedback on relevance, quotations and won jobs so the review reflects business outcomes. A form submission, a WhatsApp click and a booked job are different events and should be reported accordingly.
Your business controls follow-up. We agree how requests reach the team and who responds before spending. A form-led route can suit a team working on site, provided confirmation and response expectations are clear.
Where paid search fits alongside SEO and social ads
Search ads can provide paid visibility while your organic presence develops. SEO supports unpaid discovery over time, while Facebook and Instagram can introduce project-led offers to potential customers. We choose around your starting point rather than insist every business buys every channel.
