Choose how your business generates enquiries
Tradesmen can attract work through their own website and local listing, paid campaigns, referrals or third-party platforms. Each route has different costs, control and follow-up needs. Built for Local provides agreed marketing services for your business rather than a standard pay-per-lead marketplace.
| Route | How it works | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Your website + local SEO | Monthly work builds useful pages and local presence | Scope, access, ownership and genuine coverage |
| Google Search Ads | Management fee plus advertising spend | Service intent, conversion tracking and job economics |
| Facebook & Instagram Ads | Visual campaigns introduce a specific offer | Project evidence, qualification and follow-up |
| Directories or pay-per-lead platforms | Membership or purchased opportunities | Sharing, duplicates, qualification and refund terms |
| Referrals and planning opportunities | Introductions or signals of potential projects | Actual buying intent, relevance and appropriate contact |
Planning permission signals a potential project, not an invitation to buy your services. A purchased contact is not automatically a qualified enquiry. Check each provider’s terms and actual suitability for your trade.
Your brand, your enquiry route
Own-brand campaigns direct prospects to your business. We do not resell those enquiries to a panel of contractors. Customers can still compare companies themselves, and repeated or unsuitable requests can occur.
Primary-town trade exclusivity concerns our agreed marketing relationship. It does not reserve all local demand or guarantee that a prospect contacts only you. Explore the wider marketing plan.
Agree what a worthwhile lead looks like
Define the services, coverage and minimum practical project scope first. Useful questions include postcode, job type, approximate size, urgency and a brief description. Add material choice or indicative budget where it helps a planned project; avoid a lengthy survey before the first conversation.
Separate emergency work, planned installations and maintenance. Relevant credentials and genuine availability should be visible before the customer submits details.
Deliver and follow up on requests
Test form delivery and confirmation, assign someone to review new requests and agree realistic response arrangements. Contact prospects promptly during supported hours, clarify the brief and record surveys, quotes and decisions. Fast replies help, but a fixed one-minute response promise is only useful if the team can honour it.
Optional CRM connections, automated chasers, AI agents or booking tools need a separate scope. Marketing management does not include quoting or closing jobs for your business.
Measure qualified enquiries and won work
Record sources where measurement supports them, then distinguish submissions, valid requests, quoted jobs and sales. A WhatsApp button click is an action, not proof of a conversation. Your feedback on out-of-area, duplicate and unsuitable requests helps refine the plan.
Illustration only: £1,000 spend plus £499 management totals £1,499. If that produced 20 qualified enquiries, the combined cost would be £74.95 each. If four became jobs, it would be £374.75 per won job. These figures show the calculation, not expected performance. Compare costs against contribution after direct job costs.
Real trade businesses and measured outcomes
JDM Gardens reports 60 high-quality organic-search enquiries, excluding Google Maps. Auto Gates Kent, launched in May 2026, reports 70 new-gate quote forms and 28 quote calls since launch. Each case study explains what was measured; these figures are not attributed to a paid campaign without supporting evidence.

Marketing services and monthly fees
Local Authority launches with core home, about, contact, project and review sections, up to 10 core service pages, a primary town and up to five nearby areas where useful evidence supports them. Ongoing work includes 8–10 researched new pages each month, Google Business Profile work, technical SEO and internal linking.
First month free with a three-month initial commitment. Months two and three are £499 each (£998 total for the initial three months). From month four, the ongoing website and SEO optimisation plan continues at £499/month on a monthly rolling agreement until cancelled. We agree trade and primary-town exclusivity before starting; overlapping areas need separate agreement. Your domain remains yours. After completing the initial three-month commitment and paying all outstanding fees, content and agreed assets can be handed over under the confirmed platform and transfer terms.
