Separate call-outs, planned jobs and commercial briefs
Define the work you accept before choosing a lead source. Emergency enquiries need a monitored response route, while rewires, lighting and EV charging may begin with a conversation and assessment. Commercial requests can require a specification and a longer quotation process.
| Enquiry | Information to collect |
|---|---|
| Domestic job | Location, property type, service and preferred timing |
| Rewire or consumer unit work | Property context, approximate scope and assessment needs |
| EV charger installation | Location, property and parking context, preferred timing |
| Commercial project | Premises, client role, scope, programme and access arrangements |
| Urgent request | Location, brief description and actual availability to respond |
Build enquiries through your own brand
SEO, paid search and suitable Meta campaigns can give customers a direct route to your business. We do not resell own-brand campaign enquiries to a contractor panel, although customers may independently compare electricians.
When assessing purchased leads or directories, check sharing, duplicates, service fit, geography, contract terms and total cost. A paid contact is not the same as a qualified quotation or accepted job. Third-party subscriptions are separate from our management fees.
Make follow-up practical
Keep initial forms short and assign someone to review them. Explain response expectations and avoid presenting an unmonitored form as an immediate emergency service. Your team assesses the electrical work and gives any technical guidance; the marketing form should not ask customers to open equipment or diagnose a fault.
CRM connections, automated nurture and online booking need agreed scope. Record the next action and respect requests to stop follow-up.
Judge results by job fit and progress
Track source, service, location, contact made, survey, quote and outcome. Separate missed calls, duplicates and irrelevant requests from suitable leads. Review acquisition cost using management fees and advertising spend, then compare with the contribution and capacity of the jobs won.
