Build references around the work you want to win
We identify where businesses competing for business accounts and tax services in your genuine working area are being featured. A strong website is part of the picture; accurate third-party references can help customers discover and assess your business.
We compare relevant local competitors, specialist providers and editorial sources rather than copy every backlink from a national website. The first step is to agree your services, locations and useful pages.
Research the opportunities your competitors use
For accountants, we look at the referring sites behind relevant business accounts, tax services and local accountancy advice pages. We check what earned the reference, whether the audience fits, whether your firm is eligible and what original evidence you can provide.
A manufacturer appointment, membership or partner listing requires a genuine basis. We do not claim existing relationships or guaranteed acceptance by any organisation.
Give publishers a useful reason to reference the firm
A clear service page, an original resource and named expertise provide a stronger starting point for outreach than a website with little evidence. We review the existing link profile, destinations and relevant opportunities before agreeing activity.
For an accountancy practice, useful assets might include a reviewed business-onboarding guide, original anonymised research with permission, or commentary on a topic the team can explain first-hand. Tax information needs a qualified review and an update plan.
Prioritise relevant relationships and audiences
- Professional-body directories where the firm’s current membership and eligibility permit a listing.
- Software partner directories where verified status and listing terms apply.
- Local business organisations and genuine community partnerships.
- Business, sector and accountancy publications with an appropriate editorial interest.
- Referral partners who have a useful reason to mention the firm or its resource.
We check eligibility and claims before approaching a directory or partner. Membership, software use or a commercial relationship should not be presented as an endorsement unless that is actually authorised.
Evaluate a placement beyond a headline metric
We assess the site’s subject, audience, editorial context, content quality and destination. A third-party authority score is one diagnostic, not proof that a placement will bring clients or improve a ranking.
Outreach should lead to useful relevant pages, chosen for the reader. We avoid manufactured networks and exchanges created mainly to manipulate rankings. Where a reference is paid or sponsored, disclosure and link attributes should reflect its nature. Google’s link-spam policy explains its treatment of paid and manipulative links.
Protect client and firm information
Partner quotes, client names, financial information and research data need permission and appropriate handling. We use approved assets and agree the spokesperson and review process before outreach.
Digital PR can develop a broader story where the firm has original evidence or useful expert commentary. Link building and PR need clear objectives and separate scopes where both are used.
Research AI answers in your service context
Where supported, we sample questions about choosing a provider for business accounts in an agreed area, then compare the businesses and third-party sources that appear. We also review a distinct question around local accountancy advice so the research reflects more than the business name alone.
Those examples inform a shortlist of sources to assess; an AI mention is not proof that a source caused a recommendation. Each opportunity still needs relevant evidence and eligibility.
AI answers vary by question, location, platform and date. Research is a recorded sample, not a complete measure of every answer. We separate a business mention from a cited source and record what we can actually verify. We cannot guarantee inclusion in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews, and a particular backlink does not automatically produce an AI recommendation.
Approve opportunities and costs before commitment
Some legitimate directories, publications and sponsorships charge fees. We assess their audience and relevance and obtain approval before committing your budget. Paid editorial and commercial links need appropriate disclosure and sponsored or nofollow attributes. We do not buy unqualified dofollow links to manipulate rankings.
We check whether a listing would expose private details before submitting it. We do not invent local offices or publish a home address to satisfy a directory.
