Compare scope before comparing monthly fees
A website build, a hosting-only service and an ongoing SEO programme are different purchases. Ask what is delivered initially, what happens each month, how outcomes are recorded and what ownership or cancellation terms apply.
BFL's published prices
- Local Authority: £499 a month, no setup fee, including the website and ongoing local SEO.
- Google Ads management: £499 a month, with advertising spend separate.
- Link building: from £299 a month, with scope agreed.
These are BFL prices, not an industry average. The packages page sets out launch scope, monthly work and handover terms.
Budget for the whole advertising cost
If an illustrative campaign uses £1,000 in Google spend plus £499 management, its combined monthly acquisition spend is £1,499. Running Local Authority alongside it makes the combined service and advertising spend £1,998 before optional work. This is an arithmetic example, not a recommended budget.
Use margin and won jobs to assess value
Record relevant enquiries, quotations and won jobs. Divide acquisition spend by won jobs, then compare it with the gross contribution those jobs produce. Revenue alone ignores labour, materials and fulfilment costs. Check how many enquiries were duplicates or unsuitable before using them in calculations.
Questions to ask before signing
- What services and towns are included?
- Can the existing website be used?
- What is completed each month?
- Who owns the domain, content and advertising account?
- What is the cancellation and handover process?
- How will qualified enquiries and won work be reviewed?
Choose a starting point that fits the business
A weak website may need attention before traffic spending. An established site with spare installation capacity may suit a focused advertising test. Share your starting point through the contact form so we can recommend the relevant scope.
